CN Tower

Funny that how I only visit the place after almost a year of stay in Canada and since it’s one of the must-visit spots. I am not going to bullshit too much here more because I have pictures to me help to do that.

DSC01613.jpg picture by nanalyhui

The so-called CN Tower.

DSC01615.jpg picture by nanalyhui

Tulips blooming!

DSC01661-1.jpg picture by nanalyhui

DSC01649.jpg picture by nanalyhui

The views from the tower. These didn’t impressed me at all. I prefer the kampung-ish or the greenish type of views.

DSC01628.jpg picture by nanalyhui

I like how the wind blows and how my hair turns to be messy. -__-

DSC01653.jpg picture by nanalyhui

Yea, first time posting up my latest hairstyle.

DSC01659-1.jpg picture by nanalyhui

I know…so weird to post this kind of intimate photo on blog. lol

DSC01629.jpg picture by nanalyhui

Identical tall buildings in the world…

DSC01630.jpg picture by nanalyhui

See what I found here.

DSC01625.jpg picture by nanalyhui

This is the glass floor where you can look down through the glasses and even stand on it!

DSC01624.jpg picture by nanalyhui

I feel like throwing up by just standing on it and staring down.

And while we were in downtown Toronto, there was a protest going on held by the Tamils to go against the Sri Lanka’s government because of the genocide happening in that country. Tamils are killed cruelly by the government or armed forces which I don’t know the reason why. But, I certainly hope Canada will take action instead of letting those cruel acts going on and sacrificed even more innocent people lives!

DSC01666.jpg picture by nanalyhui

According to the protestants, human organs were stolen by the army @@

DSC01665.jpg picture by nanalyhui

OMG…this is 21st century and this type of killing still going on. Shallow shallow shallow~

Reformation Day

After a few weeks of anticipation, I finally got my haircut at the Pacific Mall! It’s a mall where you can find different sort of Asians stuff inside. For me it’s a low cost mall because there is no designs or nice architectures. I think this is one of the Asians characteristics, always put low cost as their top priority. Nonetheless, it’s a good place to shop for things you cant find in typical Canadians mall. So, I recommend you guys to go for a look if you are interested looking for Chinese stuff.

DSC01304.jpg picture by nanalyhui

On the bus. Geez, why we are so obsessed with glasses?!

DSC01308.jpg picture by nanalyhui

The mall from outside. Looks like a big factory right?

DSC01309.jpg picture by nanalyhui

Foooood~

DSC01311-1.jpg picture by nanalyhui

There were 2 Indians speaking in their language, which I never heard for a long time. Little Indians in Peterborough and Kavetha never spokes in Indian!

DSC01310.jpg picture by nanalyhui

DSC01312.jpg picture by nanalyhui

The boring and dull me before the haircut!

 DSC01313.jpg picture by nanalyhui

Food I ordered, was quite nice. But look at the 卖相, so bad one…

DSC01314.jpg picture by nanalyhui

Sorry for keeping you guys waiting…Look at Anna’s face, I bet she is almost bored herself to death. Waiting for people in salon is one of the most dreadful things to do…

 DSC01315.jpg picture by nanalyhui

My 1st time doing hair outside other than my sister’s. The price is quite shocking as well. 30 dollars for the cut and 60 dollars for the color!! What the heck! Actually, I wasn’t planning to dye my hair. But, due to my super sucky calculation, I thought the colour only cost me 30 dollars and it’s almost the same price if I want to DIY.

Therefore, I agreed to dye my hair unconsciously. Was too late to change my mind after I finally figured out the price because the worker already started mixing up the dye products. So stupid…but Jae helped me to pay the 60 dollars instead as he knows I am now tight on money…T.T

I deserved a punishment instead of rewarding me by helping me.

DSC01317.jpg picture by nanalyhui

Kopitiam with Chinese style!

Don’t you think stores that are untidy and messy always own by Chinese?

Casino Rama

By just paying 10 dollars, I get to visit to Casino Rama located 2 hours away from Peterborough. Not only a bus trip to reach there, the price included a buffet dinner which cost 20 dollars. Not much descriptions but photos. I took photos like crazy, of course those are my self-portraits!

However, comparing with Genting, this casino has more to improve…sigh~ No Malaysia, you are always the best!

It’s time for some gambles! Woahh~ Sadly…I am not lucky or rich enough to gamble. And everything started to get so boring since there’s nothing to do at all! All the machines look the same…But people enjoying so much by only pressing the buttons and lost money at the same time.

Montreal Trip final part

Old Port & Xiao Wei’s surprise birthday party

It was my last day in Montreal, miss the city so much until now. We were brought to visit the old Montreal where basically everything is OLD. I dont know why it is called old Montreal or whatever, but it looks like somekind of small town in France. Another perfect spot for visiting.

Before the Old Port, we had a nice breakfast by having dim sum in a chinese retaurant. No photos of dim sum because all I care was to grab it and swallow it.

DSC01012.jpg picture by nanalyhui

DSC01004.jpg picture by nanalyhui

If I am random person in the restaurant, I will think Josephine is celebrating her 60’s birthday.

DSC01013.jpg picture by nanalyhui

It was Xiao Wei’s birthday so it makes better sense for her to take picture beside the 夀! We sang 3 kinds of birthday songs which consist mandirin, english and cantonese for her!

After the breakfast, it’s time to walk! We visited another famous church in Montreal. This time, I didnt went inside because I have to pay 5 dollars for each entrance. I was so broke so I decided not to enter. What a waste of chance…I will go again next time! It was such a nice church from what I saw in the photos.

DSC01020.jpg picture by nanalyhui

DSC01022.jpg picture by nanalyhui

The horse smells sooooo stink and gross. I was holding my breath while taking the photo!

DSC01030.jpg picture by nanalyhui

Josephine’s posing.

DSC01063.jpg picture by nanalyhui

Nice street when it comes to nightime.

DSC01065.jpg picture by nanalyhui

After all the tiring walk, it’s dinner time! I waited for this the most and also it’s the most interesting part during the trip.

DSC01067.jpg picture by nanalyhui

Me, Jia Man and Alex.

DSC01071.jpg picture by nanalyhui

Poutine. Fries covered with cheese and some sort of sauce, i think it’s gravy. Montreal is a place where poutine is originally invented.

DSC01068.jpg picture by nanalyhui

Alex’s. Something like pizza but obviously it’s not. It’s called Brasseurs. Thin and crunchy, for sure taste better than pizza. Eww…I hate pizza alot…

DSC01070.jpg picture by nanalyhui

Mine. Grilled chicken with fries and rice and salads. Price: $12.99

Later at that night, a party was organized just to give Xiao Wei a surprise. Hope she is not sad as we only celebrated her birthday 3 hours before 12.

DSC01076.jpg picture by nanalyhui

DSC01075.jpg picture by nanalyhui

Trying her best to take out the candle using her mouth.

DSC01078.jpg picture by nanalyhui

Ok..I think this guys were too over! OMG…Bet this is their party instead of Xiao Wei’s. Hehehhehe…Actually, I was not any better than them. I was playing the pool for the whole night too. Chin Sem and Khai Pin were beaten by me, muahhaha… Still so happy about this!

Chin Sem: So sad we cant have a rematch even though you were so pissed defeated by me.

So…thats my whole trip during winter break. Fun and full with memories. Wonder when is the next time we can gather like this again~ Miss you guys so much!!!

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXx

School started!! URGHHHHH!!!

I got back most of papers and i think I scored quite well so far! Am happy for my results~ My efforts of studying like crazy are not wasted(minus the easy paper’s part)!

Usually I dont talk about my marks in my blog because people might think I am showing off or what…But, in order to prove that I am not lying about the easy paper which I cursed so much in the longx5 ago post, I have to tell you all. For the Financial Accounting paper, I actually got 98.9/100! Isnt that amazing?? I never got such a good mark in big exam like this. For WMST, my score is 81/100 which I am so happy with even though it’s not that high! This is because I only started to prepare the paper the night before the exam day! AHAHHAHA~ This made my day so much! For Microeconomics, I think it’s so bad…I got only 32/40!!! Shouldnt curse so much after im done with the paper or leave the exam hall before time’s out!

Ok…going to stop here! bla bla bla-ing for so much!

Montreal Trip Part2

St. Joseph Oratory

Right after the McGill University trip, we went to St. Joseph Oratory which is another must-visit-spot in Montreal. This church is located on top of the hill and we can view the whole(i dont know..) Montreal city from there.

The wind was so strong that I almost blown away and my hair were flying like crazy! Since the temperature already so cold, now plus the wind chill, I felt like I was dying plus the sickness somemore!

DSC00955.jpg picture by nanalyhui

DSC00952.jpg picture by nanalyhui

OMG…so crazily strong the wind!

DSC00947.jpg picture by nanalyhui

Still so sick and pale.

I can feel the peace in me while I was in there. According to David, this church had helped alot who need it and more are coming from far away for the miracles or just to witness it. This is the church where I first pray and Siew Lung has to teach all of us the correct way to do it!

DSC00937.jpg picture by nanalyhui

Even though I am not a church person, but still I think this church is nice though.

DSC00957.jpg picture by nanalyhui

Go upper level for stronger wind!

Montreal Trip Part 1

McGill University

Haha, so I was in Montreal for 3 days! It’s the best city in Canada I had been to so far, looking foward for Quebec which is even better according to what I’ve heard.

We took the bus at 12.30am and reached there at around 6. Everyone were so blurred and I was so sick, godamnit. After purchasing the tickets, we took the metro and walked for 5-10 minutes in order to reach the place that we will be going to stay for the rest trip which is their residences.

The reason why McGill University is rated the best(i think so) in Canada is because they dont kick international students out from their residences like what the rest do! Brutal and heartless and greedy price discriminators! Thats why I really like Montreal alot, we got places to stay for the whole trip!

I slept for 2 hours while others were busy preparing themselves for breakfast. As a result, I was late for the breakfast, and people have to wait because of ME! Not my fault since I was sooooooooo sick~Hehhehehe

After having breakfast, we had a MaGill Trip which held by students of McGill themselves. They showed us around the campus which is located in the center of the city. It’s a nice campus with nice buildings.

DSC00901.jpg picture by nanalyhui

However, because of the bloody winter…everything were so grey-ish and deadly pale…And sorry for the low quality photos as it was so cloudy and darky plus the low megapixels of cellphone camera of mine. Shouldnt spent so much on clothes but get a better camera right? Stupid me =.=

Joyful Gathering

Right after the Boxing Day, bunch of JPA scholars gathered at Mr. Mac’s house just for fun. Mr. Mac was kind enough to offer his place as our gathering spot which is approximately 30 people in total. Imagine… group of old friends gather and chatting non stop and the sound pollution created! I was there, so I can assure you it’s earsplitting as hell!

Mr. Mac’s house is located in Bolton, Ontario, which is 45minutes away from downtown Toronto. We all share the bus fare where each one of use paid 10 dollars. Actually, Mr Mac was supposed to responsible for the cost, but since it’s too expensive so we all have to split the cost among us.

Before heading to Bolton, I had my breakfast in one of the restaurants in Chinatown. It’s my Chinese style breakfast after such a long long time! I was so touched and appreaciate it so much even though it’s still taste nicer in Malaysia. I had fish porridge, hot soya milk and 油条(i dont know what it’s called in english).

****This breakfast was a treat from Lee Lung! Was supposed to pay for him but I dont have cash with me. Screwed them for not accepting debit card~

DSC00826.jpg picture by nanalyhui

DSC00827.jpg picture by nanalyhui

Was waiting for the street car and get to the place where the bus will pick us up.

DSC00846.jpg picture by nanalyhui

Nice dining room.

DSC00845.jpg picture by nanalyhui

Gingerbread house made by the host.

DSC00847.jpg picture by nanalyhui

You know, my voice turned into a big disaster and having the worst sore throat ever after playing Wii because I was screaming and yelling the whole time. I was so hyper and aggresive since I am a kiasu kinda person and will try so hard just to win even though I suck at it! Im still losing my voice now and kinda regret that I played so hard! Basically, it’s a boxing game. So, I just simply hold the controller and punch the air like crazy. It was stupid but was fun though.

We left at 6pm and reached Toronto at 7pm. Went to a Chinese restaurant for dinner was our next step. The rating among us for the restaurant is 5 out of 10. Sigh…why canadian chinese food can never taste good?!?!

DSC00864.jpg picture by nanalyhui

DSC00863.jpg picture by nanalyhui

DSC00861.jpg picture by nanalyhui

This one taste nice even though it’s bad looking.

DSC00862.jpg picture by nanalyhui

Something dramatic happened. I missed my bus going back to Peterborough because I dont know there’s only one bus which is at 9.30pm on that night. I was still having my dinner at 8.30pm in the restaurant, therefore I can sense that I might missed the bus! In fast speed, I finished the meal and rushed to the rented room and packed my stuff. I reach the terminal around 9.25pm and sadly the bus left without me on it!

So…it’s proven that my sixth sense was true! I totally missed it and there’s only one at 12am. But, I can’t use my ticket and I will have to walk back home alone in cold if I take the 12am bus. So….after a short discussion with friends, I decided to follow the trip to Montreal! Isn’t that interesting?!

So, I will talk about the trip to Montreal in the next post!

Boxing Day

As you know, my Christmas Day was filled with craps, so ain’t gonna talk about it now.

Here comes the better part, Boxing Day! The day after Christmas day which is the day for shopaholics to shop like crazy. Up to 70% discount were all over the places in Canada!

Even though I am not a shopaholic(huhu, decide it yourself), I will never ever missed the day therefore I went to Toronto where the malls are much more better than Peterborough.

Before I went there, my friend told me it will be a total chaos so better not going! But, for me, it’s okay only. Not as bad as my friend described. He told me, we have to line up like crazily long before can go into the shops and even pay for the stuff you wanted to buy.

The real situation is, only several shops that required us to line up like we are getting free stuff but not every of them. And the shops that people who were lining up for are kinda branded. So, it doesn’t post any harm on me.

Undeniable it’s crowded than usual. However, I don’t think the shops were offering LOW prices. It’s still too high and the blood suckers still gaining so much profit! I don’t get it, the prices were actually the same with the previous days before Boxing Day. Why people lining up during Boxing Day instead of buying it before that day?The truth is, I think Montreal is the better place to shop!(yea, I went there too!)

Me…during the Boxing Day in Eaton Center. Basically, i got myself some clothes, perfume, necklace…

DSC00816.jpg picture by nanalyhui

DSC00817-1.jpg picture by nanalyhui

People shop as if they get it for FREE!

DSC00815.jpg picture by nanalyhui

DSC00819.jpg picture by nanalyhui

DSC00818-1.jpg picture by nanalyhui

After the shopping craze, went to have supper with UBC gang who came far away from Vancouver just to spend their winter break here! It’s so nice to see so many old friends of mine!!

DSC00825.jpg picture by nanalyhui

DSC00824.jpg picture by nanalyhui

****A treat from Lee Lung…=..= Should bring more cash if you are travelling!!!

Nice Vietnamese food with affordable price. But the funny thing is, the waiters there are so much like gangsters! They treat the customers like they are owing them money! So rude and unreasonable! The serives is the lousiset I had ever seen! Xiao Wei suggested we give them 1 cent as tips. But, since we are all kind people, we gave them  1 dollar instead! Aha~

By the way, the place I stayed over in Toronto only 20dollars per night. Bad things are, it’s soooo small and not facilitated.

DSC00821.jpg picture by nanalyhui

Wonder why I still got the mood to take pciture even though the room is so small and i tired like hell!lol

Next post: Gathering in Mr. Mac’s house.

Trip to Ottawa-part 2

continue…

After having our so-called food, means it’s time for shopping! I know it’s sad that there’s only one shopping mall that is actually located near to us. And one of the purposes of us to visit Ottawa is to shop~But, I don’t think I have enough money to spend on another shopping mall because I spent all of my money there…-__-

Also, thanks alot to Siew Lung for not telling me that I got my allowance from government while I was still in Ottawa. I, myself, can’t imagine what are the consequences for knowing this!!!Horrible…

On the way walking to the mall….

After we done with the shopping, we got to visit the famous Parliament buildings located on the Parliament Hill. Credit for Jae for being our tour guide, he’s been there for 2 years. So, it will be so stupid if not to ask him for guidance.

Trip to Ottawa-part 1

Aren’t we suppose to read during Reading Week? I highly doubt that everyone will actully read throughout the week because even I aka nerd aka bookworm did not do so…hehehe! Instead of wasting time sitting in the room and surf, why not going to explore and sightseeing? So, went to Ottawa with bunch of friends during the week. By the way, dear sisters, I got my money from government already, so I won’t face any financial constrained so far! So, dont scold me for having fun without thinking about the consequences~hehe

Ottawa, capital of Canada, is not a bad place to visit..But, according to my friend(Jae), it’s a boring place. Due to the reason that Peterborough is even unexciting, I have to disagree with this assumption!LOL..And it’s not a good place to shop! There’s only one shopping mall loacted at the center of the city! Gosh! Any Malaysians or Singaporeans who are reading this have to agree that it’s insanely impossible right? We have at least 3 shopping malls connect to each others.

I was so brainless that I didnt capture any photos of the hotel room! It was so big and with complete facilities such as kitchen accessories and cooking utensils which means you can cook and don’t have to buy food which is ridiculous overrated and bad-tasted! I think it’s called, Embassy Hotel and Suit. So, go there if you are having trips to Ottawa! The location is strategic as well, 15 minutes walk from the bus express station.

DSCN0780.jpg picture by nanalyhui

Photo shooting time~

DSCN0785.jpg picture by nanalyhui

Tall buildings!! Havent seen them for ages since I am in Peterborough!

DSCN0786.jpg picture by nanalyhui

Gloomy sky because it’s raining. SO COLD~~

And there’s another thing I wanted to tell you guys. I was stuck in the middle of the road for 2 hours because of some mechanical problems of the bus. Therefore, the road trip suppose to take only 4 hours but it turned out to be 7 hours! I was so dizzy and light-headed during the trip and it’s torturing….pukes*

Starved for 7 hours without food, we rushed to the nearest place, Terriyaki, to have our meals. Seriously, the food sucks! Arghhh~How can a creature called human prepared this kind of stuff that so-called FOOD?? I am not fussy in food but still I must complain!

DSCN0787.jpg picture by nanalyhui

Was clueless about what to eat.

DSCN0790.jpg picture by nanalyhui

Look how empty and quite the restaurant is!!!I swear I am not exaggerated or overstated!

Ok,must stop here! I have to cope up with what I laid behind! Studies~ Aja aja fighting(taught by Jae)
